Sheldon Benally

Sheldon R. Benally, Kinliichíi’nii (Red House People Clan), born for Tábaahá (Water’s Edge Clan), is Navajo originally from Cove, Arizona. He is currently interning as a Community Health Educator with the Dine’ College HIV/HCV/Substance Abuse Prevention Program. He is a Community Health Education graduate student at the University of New Mexico. Sheldon has been involved with HIV Prevention and Education since 2009 working with various projects with Dine’ College, UNM Truman Health Services, and with the New Mexico AIDS Education and Training Center. Sheldon earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology, also from the University of New Mexico. His hobbies include attending Lobo basketball games, cooking, being active with running, hiking, and watching comedy movies.
